A Wednesday night talk at the J-School
At the end of a boring day of nothing I stopped at Anna Badkhen's talk - about writing from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Chechnya.
It is our job, as journalists, to never write about violence as nameless and faceless.
Everything in the world is held together by stories. Stories and compassion.
Her advice:
1. Travel with your heart open.
2. Read poetry.
3. Travel with books.
4. Be vulnerable to other people's grief.
