Pandora's Box

We're watching a country pull itself out into the open. Along the way, there are struggles: between the reformists and the conformists, the Burmese and the ethnic groups, the racists and the liberals. After decades of stifling authoritarianism, suddenly there are viewpoints and opinions and ideas. And some of those ideas we don't like. And this, I realise, is part of the messy, uncomfortable, difficulty of democracy.
